Overview

Ignite’s Center of Excellence for Gaming and Animation (CEGA) is a flagship initiative aimed at nurturing Pakistan’s rapidly growing talent pool in the gaming and animation industries. Launched in November 2025 in partnership with HUM Network Ltd., CEGA provides state-of-the-art training, hands-on mentorship, and world-class infrastructure to empower the next generation of Pakistani creators, developers, and entrepreneurs in the digital entertainment sector.

 

Two dedicated centers have been established in Lahore and Karachi-Pakistan’s two largest creative and technology hubs to ensure broad geographic reach and equitable access to opportunities. These centers serve as integrated ecosystems, combining incubation, co-working spaces, training labs, and community engagement under one roof.

Implementation Partnership

CEGA has been developed in close collaboration with HUM Network Ltd., bringing together Ignite’s technology mandate and HUM’s deep roots in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. This public private partnership model ensures that training content remains aligned with industry demands, while also providing trainees with direct exposure to real world production environments and market networks.

Code4AI — Building Nationwide Artificial Intelligence Talent

Ignite’s Code4AI program is an ambitious, upcoming initiative designed to build a nationwide pipeline of skilled Artificial Intelligence professionals. Set to launch in the first quarter of FY 2026-27, Code4AI will equip Pakistani youth with cutting edge, practical AI skills augmented by exposure to emerging technologies including Quantum Computing and Blockchainpreparing them for the demands of a rapidly evolving global technology landscape. 

The program is anchored in applied learning, with 70% of curriculum delivered through hands on exercises and real world projects. Successful trainees will receive internationally recognized certifications, significantly enhancing their employability both domestically and abroad.

Practical AI Skills

Comprehensive training in core and applied artificial intelligence, covering machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.

Quantum Computing & Blockchain Exposure

Participants gain foundational understanding of emerging technologies that are increasingly intersecting with AI in industry applications.

Hands-On Learning

The majority of training hours are dedicated to applied exercises, real datasets, and project-based assignments to ensure job ready competencies.

Capstone Projects

Each trainee completes a capstone project, allowing them to demonstrate integrated learning and build a portfolio of work for prospective employers.

Demo Day

A structured showcase event where trainees present their projects to industry professionals, investors, and hiring partners, creating direct pathways to employment and entrepreneurship.

International Certification

Trainees who successfully complete the program receive globally recognized certifications, enhancing their credentials for both local and international job markets.

Industry-Relevant Outcomes

The training is designed to produce job-ready professionals capable of contributing immediately to local and international semiconductor companies, reducing the need for foreign expertise in high value technology development.

Specialized Semiconductor Training:

The program provides advanced hands-on training in Integrated Circuit (IC) Design, VLSI verification, mixed signal design, and tapeout projects aligned with global semiconductor industry standards.

Research and Soft Skills Development:

In addition to technical learning, the program integrates research methodology, technical reporting, communication, and professional development skills to prepare trainees for both industry and research careers.

Structured Multi-Module Learning:

The diploma is delivered through three progressive modules covering foundational electronics, advanced verification techniques, practical tapeout execution, research methodology, and AI applications in VLSI.

High Performance Standards

A total of 33 students were selected, including 30 primary candidates required by Ignite National Technology Fund and 3 backup candidates. Following Module-1 and the final examination, a 100% success rate was achieved for Ignite candidates.

Practical Tapeout Exposure

Module-2 includes a five month VLSI Design Verification and Tapeout Project, providing trainees with direct exposure to real world semiconductor workflows and chip development processes.

Free of Cost Training

DigiSkills.pk provides completely free online training to Pakistani youth, students, professionals, freelancers, and job seekers, removing financial barriers to skill development.

Government Led Initiative

The program is funded by the Government of Pakistan through the Ministry of IT & Telecom, under Ignite National Technology Fund, and implemented by Virtual University of Pakistan to promote digital inclusion and economic empowerment.

The program offers training in high demand digital and freelancing domains such as Freelancing, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, E-Commerce Management, SEO, WordPress, QuickBooks, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Virtual Assistant, and Entrepreneurship

Hands-On Learning Approach

Courses emphasize practical learning through assignments, quizzes, projects, and applied exercises, enabling trainees to develop job-ready and freelance-ready skills rather than only theoretical knowledge.

Freelancing and Remote Earning Focus

DigiSkills.pk is specifically designed to help participants earn through local and international freelancing platforms by building their online earning capacity and entrepreneurial mindset.

Learning Management System (LMS)

Training is delivered through a fully online LMS where trainees can access video lectures, study material, quizzes, assignments, assessments, and discussion forums from anywhere in Pakistan.

Code4AI is poised to be a transformative intervention in Pakistan’s technology talent landscape. By producing thousands of AI-literate graduates with globally recognized credentials and strong placement outcomes, the program will directly address the growing demand for AI expertise across industries from fintech and healthcare to agriculture and public services. The initiative aligns with Pakistan’s national digital transformation agenda and supports the country’s ambition to become a significant player in the global AI economy. 

Digiskills.pk 3.0 Training Program

DigiSkills.pk is the largest Training Program in Pakistan offering best Free Online Courses in freelancing Skills with E-Certificates issued by VU and Ignite. The Women Empowerment is a key element of this program, as they benefit to learn and earn sitting in the comfort of their homes. 

As the number of freelancers in Pakistan continues to rise, we take pride in having played a significant role in solidifying Pakistan’s place as the 4th largest provider of online freelancers in the world. In fact, the number of freelancers in Pakistan has seen a dramatic rise over successive years. According to the report of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan is leading the way in Asia with a 47.4% increase in freelancer earnings over the past few years. Due to the overwhelming success of the DigiSkills.pk training program, DigiSkills.pk 3.0 was launched in 1st June 2025.

Expected Impact

DigiSkills.pk is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s digital economy by equipping youth, women, and professionals with in demand digital and freelancing skills. The program will increase employability, promote self employment, and create sustainable income opportunities through local and international freelancing platforms. It will support entrepreneurship, reduce unemployment, and enhance financial inclusion, particularly for underserved communities and women. By developing a skilled digital workforce, DigiSkills.pk will also contribute to higher freelancing exports, economic growth, and Pakistan’s transition toward a knowledge based economy. 

Training in Integrated Circuit Design & Verification

The Training in Integrated Circuit (IC) Design and Verification program is a specialized capacity building initiative launched by Ignite  National Technology Fund to develop advanced technical expertise in semiconductor and chip design technologies in Pakistan as pilot progam. The program aims to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in the global semiconductor industry by training individuals in advanced IC design, VLSI verification, and tapeout processes. By building local talent and reducing reliance on foreign expertise, the initiative supports Pakistan’s vision of strengthening its deep tech ecosystem, promoting research led innovation, and creating high value employment opportunities in the semiconductor sector. The project agreement was signed on 23 June 2025, with official commencement from 01 July 2025 for a total duration of 14 months, including outreach, trainee selection, training, and tapeout execution. 

The program is anchored in applied learning, with 70% of curriculum delivered through hands-on exercises and real world projects. Successful trainees will receive internationally recognized certifications, significantly enhancing their employability both domestically and abroad. 

Program Targets

The Training in Integrated Circuit Design and Verification program aims to train 30 individuals in advanced chip design techniques, developing a skilled workforce capable of contributing to both local and global semiconductor industries. The program seeks to reduce dependency on foreign expertise by building in house professionals who can support high value technology development, innovation, and research in semiconductor and chip design technologies. 

Curriculum Highlights

The curriculum is designed to provide advanced technical knowledge and practical exposure in Integrated Circuit (IC) Design and Verification through a structured three module approach covering analog, digital, mixed signal, and VLSI verification domains.
